Saying goodbye to people and places

Each farewell, a surreal reality

Where the sorrow of parting

Ebbs and flows like the tide

My life once rooted in the ground of predictability

Now races along the road of mutability

Catching me breathless 

At each bump, each bend, each turn

Desperate, I reach for Him

Then, a well of joy, peace, and faith

Springs up within 

As He assures me, this is His Way

Bumps, bends, and turns

Sorrows, losses, and tears

Yet also His Promise of

Unbreakable love

Everlasting covenant

Never-ending life

And in that moment, I know

He is my Home
